Start Building Your Business For Free
I don’t know about you, but if I can get a good deal on
a good product, I jump on it. As I have taken tons of
classes on business, I have been amazed at what is
available for free. It makes sense though, because if
your read my last post about the power of the bloggers,
good businesses are realizing that happy customers are the
lifeblood of their business. Everyone appreciates it when
someone helps them, and when you offer free help, even better. That
creates good relationships, you don’t hesitate to do business with
someone who has given you stuff, as a matter of fact, you will look
for opportunities to do business with them. I know I do.
I have paid a lot of money to learn things I need to know. Heck,
way back in the stone ages I paid a lot for a college education.
That was minimal compared to what I paid at the school of
hard knocks! I don’t even want to think about how much we have paid for
our kids education. I am telling you that because I believe wholeheartedly
in paying for the information that will help you build your career. That
said, I also will take advantage of things that companies freely give.
It can be expensive to build a business, believe me I know. I went
that route the last time.
I am not going to tell you that it will be free to start your
business, it will cost you in some way, but it is totally possible to dip your
toe in the water for free. Yesterday I told you about Google Alerts, that will
help you keep your finger on the pulse of what is being said by your target
market (that group of people who need what you are offering). That can help
you tweak your products to the needs of the market. Today I want to tell
you that you can find great keywords that will help you know what to
say that will lead your market to you. All you have to do is go to your
browser and search for free keyword tools. There are several you can use. I
like Wordtracker & Google Adwords. You enter the keyword, and the
results will tell you how many searches there have been for that keyword.
Wordtracker has a free trial, but they ask for your email. Google just lets you
use the tool without any strings attached. I also like to use Google Insights
to see what is happening in that niche (market) as a whole. It can help you
determine the history and predicting what the future interest is. I hope that
will help you get started in finding the keywords that will help drive the
traffic to your website. If you have questions, please feel free to leave them
in the comments.
